Christmas 2015

Hi! How did your Christmas go? December has snuck up on me from the back and before I knew it, we're near the near the end of the month.

As usual, my family went out on our traditional tradition of Simbang Gabi, which the short summary of that is this: a nine day Filipino church celebration involving evening mass and food. Sadly, I had to miss four days because the first two days coincided with my school's finals, which I had to study for, the third day missed was due to my heart surgery (my heart is back to normal), while on the final day I had a massive headache.

I've usually had good memories associated with this event-- when I was a kid, I was apart of a group of youngsters who would sneak out of mass early in order to be one of the first in line for food. Because the mass was at a different church every single day, we would often have fun exploring it area, playing hide and seek until the game turned into a rescue mission to save someone who got stuck inside of a storage closet.

On Christmas Eve, I spent most of the day reading and videochatting with some good friends of mine. The evening of that day was spent at a church mass, followed by going to a party with my relatives.

I love the holiday season-- with all its hustle, singing, and joy, but life has definitely caught up to the point where I had to think about other things than celebrating Christmas in its entirety.

Before I end this post, I have two things I'd like to ask for. One is this: if anyone is a Narnia fan, comment below; I have a Narnia-related collaborative post I'd like to talk about, and I'd like to tie it in with Christianity. So if anyone is interested, please comment below!

The second request is, could you all ask me simple questions like, "What is your favorite color? Favorite food? A weird quirk about you?" I'm hoping on creating a 20 questions video but these have to be simple questions, ones that can be answered via video and one that does not show my face or voice. I'm still not allowed to show anything about my identity.

I hope you all are having a lovely week!

  1. You scared me when you mentioned heart surgery! Glad to hear everything is okay now.
Seems like you had a good Christmas. Mine was very quiet, all my relatives are on vacation :P
Oh, and is this question okay? "What's your favorite movie?"

    1. Envy! Oh my goodness, I can't believe it's been awhile! I've been trying to find your blog, but as it turns out, you moved under a new name! I'm going to follow you on Bloglovin' right before I log off.

Heart surgery was stressful and quite annoying (it's so hard to have to force yourself to stay in bed when you know you're bedridden for a certain amount of hours), to some bits-- but actually, I was kind of not as freaked out as I thought I would be.

Quiet Christmas are the best! Sure, it doesn't have the hustle and bustle that big family Christmases have, but it's all warm and fuzzy and just good vibes, good vibes.

That question is good! I actually have an idea on how I'm going to represent it. Well, time to get my LARPing skills alive again for that. XDDDD I hope you have a happy New Year!

  2. I'm glad to hear your heart's well! Your Christmas sounds eventful and fun--our household doesn't even swap presents on Christmas (we hardly acknowledge it), so I guess we're at opposite ends. :') It sounds like a tradition I would enjoy. :)

I love Narnia! A Narnia collab sounds intriguing--and of course, I have my views on Christianity as an athiest. I'm not sure if you'd want my views, though. I have positive opinions on Christianity and religion altogether, but perhaps you were looking for the Christian perspective on things? In that case, I'm okay to step aside. If not, count me in! :)

My question to you: What is the best part of blogging?

    1. Christmas was indeed fun! Aww, swapping presents is fun though! :P

The Narnia collaborative isn't necessarily all about Christianity, but I do want to integrate it into the post, even if it is just a little bit... it is about Susan Pevensie and why she ended up not being like the other seven that did go to Narnia at the end of the Last Battle. I've read articles here are there (apparently she left because she discovered sexuality? Um, what?!?!?) but I definitely think your viewpoint would be an asset. ^.^ After the New Years or whenever I have time, I'll try to contact you about the collab!

Thank you so much for the question, and I hope you have a great 2016! I can't wait to see what posts you have in store for the new year (I just voted on the sidebar of what you should post about; literally, I chose all options because ALL OF THE OPTIONS SOUND REALLY GOOD AND INTERESTING)!!!

  3. I'm glad to hear that your heart's doing good! i was scared there for a second :)
that's good to hear you had a great Christmas :) mine was pretty quiet and reflective of the wonder of what Jesus can do today if He's born in our hearts again. i'll agree with you though, the holiday season is so fun and jolly!

    1. My heart is doing good! I think; I'm supposed to have one follow up appointment in January and hopefully they say that my heart is completely fine. I don't mind the hospital (despite the huge appetite post-operation) but the surgery was really uncomfortable!

It's great that you reflect about God during Christmas; all my family does is go to the mass Christmas Eve. It's kind of sad of how commercialized the holiday has become in today's society :(

  5. I DO love Narnia, but I don't know if committing to a collab post is a good idea at the moment. My life is a bit hectic right now. :P

What is one place you would like to visit at some point in your life?
    Favorite book?

    1. Aww, I'm sorry, Becca! Life can be busy... just be sure to calm down even for a bit during this holiday season, all right? :PPP

Thank you for the question, and I hope you have a happy 2016!!!

    1. AMEN AMEN AMEN, SISTER. Christmas is one of my favorite holidays! And YAYYYYYYYYY I feel like I was born in Narnia, too! I feel like I'm literally raised in Narnia, by the landscape that surrounds my town. ^.^ I'll be sure to contact you about it ASAP!

  8. Your photos are beautiful as always Morning <3

AHHH NARNIA!!! Back when I discovered your blog, it was one of the first reasons I loved it so! Narnia was the first book series I fell in love with. I do know some connections to Christianity through the book, and I'd love to talk about them, but if you're looking for an entirely Christian perspective, like Jo said, I'll be happy to step aside.

    Some weird questions:
What is your least favourite ice cream flavour?
Song that you are most guilty about enjoying?

    1. Thank you <3 <3 <3

Narnia is one of the best pieces of literature, period. The entire post isn't exactly revolving around Christianity; I'd actually love to hear your thoughts and inputs about the Narnia topic, honestly.

Thanks so much for the questions (yikes, the second question... I already imagine how I'm going to record it in my video and it's just XDDDDDDD)! Hope your 2016 celebration goes well tomorrow!

  9. Oh mah word you went for heart surgery? I'm so glad that went well and you're all good now!

/raises hand and shakes vigorously/ YES NARNIA FAN HERE. super interested in that post hehe <3 My question for you is "What TV shows are your favourite?" xx

    1. Yeah, I went out for heart surgery! My heart has been irregular for some time... a fact that isn't harmful now, but will be in the future if it continued.

YAYYYYY ANOTHER NARNIAN!!!! >.< LIKE IT'S HARD TO FANGIRL BECAUSE YOU KNOW PEOPLE THINK IT'S WEIRD TO FANGIRL OVER THINGS THAT AREN'T IN YA LITERATURE BUT YOU KNOW WHAT THAT DOESN'T MATTER.

TV show? Ooh, toughie... the fact that I rarely watch TV shows on a consistent basis is a problem. XD

  11. Ok, this is SUPER late, but I wanted to comment anyway. xD
    Ahem.
I'm so glad that your heart is feeling better! My older sister once had to go through heart surgery, and it can be a scary thing.
*raises hand energetically* Oo! Oo! Oo! OOOOO! I LOVE NARNIA! That series has literally been my favorite series OF ALL TIME ever since I read it (which was like when I was 5)!! And the way it ties with Christianity? SCORE! THAT JUST MAKES IT ALL THE BETTER!
Hopin' for that post to be soon! *nudge*
    Here's my questions:
    - Who is your favorite character from the Chronicles of Narnia? *wink wink*
    - If you could bring any fictional character or being into the real world, who or what would it be?
PS: I'm really liking the blog look! :)
